A novel

Where the Sun Meets the Sky

Malia was twenty-five when her mother chose her a husband. Two years on, she measures her days by Daniel’s temper, and the only peace she finds is on a swing in the estate playground.

Then a stranger and his wandering dog stop beside her, and one honest conversation starts to loosen everything she was taught a good wife should hold together. Joy’s novel is about the marriages women are pushed into, and what it takes to want something of your own.

This novel depicts domestic violence.

About Joy

I’m a writer, journalist and editor based in Abuja, Nigeria. My work spans news, features, reviews, scripts, product copy and fiction.

I started in broadcast newsrooms, first as an intern at Silverbird Television and Rhythm 93.7 FM, then at Voice of Nigeria, where I covered the entertainment beat, reported events, recorded interviews and edited copy for the website.

Since then I’ve written about fashion and culture for Melan Magazine and Aura, founded Eavesdroppr, written product copy for Hired By Code and ghostwritten romance novels for private clients. I studied mass communication at the University of Jos, for a BA and then an MA.

I’m open to remote work and to relocating.
